How to Turn Your Authentic Gifts Into Income
Hi, I’m Britney! I’m a multidisciplinary artist, seer, and spiritual guide. I’ve been an artist for pretty much my whole life, and I began my spiritual journey about six years ago. Not long after, I realized I was meant to help others on their journeys by using my gifts.
I’ve been able to make an income from my gifts, and I don’t even have a large following. Once I started sharing my gifts, putting myself out there, and taking a chance on myself, the right people began to find me.
So, where do you start?
First, identify what comes naturally to you. What do you enjoy doing? What puts you in a state of flow, where you lose track of time because you’re so immersed in what you’re doing?
Sometimes, we overlook the things we naturally gravitate toward because they feel so effortless. But these are often the very things worth exploring.
Just know that you have the power to shift your reality. Some of us have spent so much time in survival mode that we either forget this or find it difficult to believe, which is understandable. Life can be hard, and we all need support along the way.
You don't have to abandon stability to pursue your creative gifts or build something of your own. You can find a balance between working on your business or creative endeavors and maintaining a job. It's about finding what works for you and allowing yourself the space to grow.
Second, stop overlooking your gifts just because they come naturally to you.
Sometimes, we don't recognize the value of our own gifts because they come easily to us. We might think, It's not that big of a deal, or So many other people do this. How would I ever stand out?
But here's the thing: just because something comes naturally to you doesn't mean it isn't valuable. You don't have to struggle with something for it to be worth sharing.
If there's something you're naturally drawn to or good at, explore how you can share it with others. Nobody will do it exactly like you. We all have our own unique perspectives, experiences, and ways of expressing ourselves. That's what makes us special.
Third, identify how your gifts can help others.
This is where you can begin exploring how to turn your gifts into income. Ask yourself how your skills, ideas, or experiences could solve a problem, meet a need, or bring joy to someone else.
For example, maybe you're great at brainstorming and coming up with ideas. You could explore offering brainstorming sessions to small businesses that need fresh ideas or creative solutions to certain challenges. Or perhaps you're naturally good at making people feel understood, and you could explore ways to use that ability in a service that supports others.
There are so many ways to share your gifts. Sometimes, you just have to think outside the box and explore the possibilities.
And let me add something else: you can also feel spiritually blocked from accessing or expressing your gifts. Sometimes, there may be areas of your life that need attention, healing, or deeper reflection before you feel comfortable sharing what you have to offer.
Being creative and sharing my gifts has always been an outlet for me. It's helped me stay grounded and connected to myself. There have also been times when I've felt blocked because of life circumstances or certain situations, but I always found my way back to my creativity.
From my experience, it's about staying in alignment with yourself and learning to follow your intuition.
When it's time for a change, you'll know it. When it's time to adjust your direction, you'll know that, too. But it's important to learn the difference between fear holding you back from sharing your gifts and taking certain steps, and something else telling you to pause and reflect. Sometimes, limiting beliefs can get in the way, too.
You might be afraid of being judged, of putting yourself out there, or of not being good enough. You might question whether anyone will be interested in what you have to offer. But don't let those fears automatically convince you that you shouldn't try.
Give yourself permission to explore, learn, and figure things out along the way.
If you don't know where to start, start exploring and see where it takes you. Try different hobbies, revisit things you used to enjoy, or experiment with something new. Pay attention to what excites you, what feels natural, and what makes you feel more connected to yourself.
Then ask yourself: How can I express or share these skills and gifts in a way that can help others?
You don't have to have everything figured out right now. Sometimes, the first step is simply giving yourself permission to explore what's already within you. You never know where it might lead.
